Private Family Estate Wedding On Shuswap Lake
This summer lake wedding breathed modern romance. From the couple themselves, to the florals, to the decor, everything about this wedding was thoughtfully curated and executed to perfection. This shuswap lake wedding had found the perfect balance of natural simplistic beauty and opulence. This was easily achieved with a couple who naturally had impeccable taste and design.
Bree and Keegan said “I do” to forever on July 06, 2019, on a stunning family estate in Tappen BC. Located on the Shuswap Lake. The Shuswap Lake is known for incredible sunsets and breathtaking views. Many couples have spent their wedding days here and it's clear why. Bree and Keegan used their family vacation home on the Shuswap Lake as their venue to host their wedding day celebrations. This location allowed them to invite over 100 guests to share in their special day.
Bree and Keegan chose to do a first look. The first look often helps put those wedding day jitters to rest and it gives you a private and intimate moment with your love before you both start this new journey together. Keegan and Bree did their first look sharing a magical moment before capturing bridal party photos. Bree’s bridal party all wore white dresses, in varying styles. This created a beautifully curated theme for their bridal photos.
The ceremony for this Shuswap Lake wedding area took place in the family gardens. Bree and Keegan spoke their vows in front of a hexagonal arch decorated with greenery and floral arrangements. Guests sat on harvest chairs in rows lining the pathway to the arch.
There are many incredible moments to choose to speak about from this wedding, but we wouldn’t be doing the wedding justice if we didn’t speak about the mouth-watering food served. When guests entered the venue they were greeted with a glass of champagne and truffle thyme popcorn displayed in small white boxes.
After the ceremony guests were invited to the cocktail hour where they enjoyed a seafood snack bar, an oyster shucking station, and farmers market crudités. The colorful array of food not only looked incredible but was equally, if not more, tasteful. This wedding had two bars in separate locations for guests to use. This allowed for guests to mingle throughout the Shuswap Lake property while they enjoyed their beverages and never had to wait too long in line for a drink.
Dessert was prepared by family and friends and displayed on marble and wood cake stands. The food this evening did not stop with dessert, Bree and Keegan chose to serve ice cream sandwiches and have a taco stand as a late-night snack to serve their guests.
The design for this wedding was modern, simple, and elegant. Signs and stationary were a classic black script over white to accent the natural beauty of the property. To add warmth to the reception and cocktail hour, white candles were lit in clear candle holders that were arranged throughout the cocktail and reception areas. Floating candles were used at the reception tables to keep a clean and simple feeling to the decor. A touch of gold-rimmed some candle holders to add a bit of variety.
The place setting was created using clear glass plates, ivory folding napkins, gold cutlery, and an olive sprig placed on top. This simple and elegant place setting spoke to the romance and gentle sophistication of this wedding day.
For the reception dinner, the family's tennis court was transformed by a clear tent, string lighting, and lush greenery and white florals to welcome the newlywed couple and their guests. The guests sat in harvest chairs that were paired with long wood harvest tables. The tables were tastefully decorated with greenery lining down the middle of the tables, along with an array of white florals interwoven. This brought a feeling of freshness to the design of the evening.
The reception dinner was designed gallery style with tables forming a square around the dance floor and the head table in the centre of the dining area. This table styling placed the wedding party central to all the guests and created open space for mingling and dancing later on in the evening.
“Brandy and her team went above and beyond for our wedding. She helped make the day perfect! She is the most kind human that will do whatever she can to make all your dreams come true. Would recommend her and her team a million times over”
