Introducing Kelsey, Your Resident BME Blogger!

Hey, I'm Kelsey!

I live here in Kamloops, BC and have been with Brandy Maddison Events pretty much since the beginning, but have been friends with Brandy for much longer than that. Longer than a decade, come to think of it! And it’s been pretty amazing to watch each other grow in business and in our personal lives. We were really able to build our friendship even stronger when we started working together. Going on long road trips, having late nights in the studio, and occasionally working until 3:00am really bonds people!

Being a part of the Brandy Maddison Events team has been one of the highlights of my life in the last seven years. We have the most incredible time bringing dreams to life. And being a huge hopeless romantic myself, I love getting to be there to witness two people share their love stories. Chances are that me, Brandy, and the rest of the BME team are crying off on the side while you're exchanging vows! We sincerely love love and regardless of if we’re just meeting the couple or have been building the relationship up for months or longer, it doesn’t matter. On the wedding day, there’s an energy in the air that’s palpable and we all share in it.

We have gotten to work with so many incredible vendors and have met countless couples that we have kept in touch with. Building relationships is a huge part of this job and we don’t take it lightly. When you hire the BME team, you’re sincerely hiring a team of friends. We want to see every last detail come to life on your special day and we stop at nothing to accomplish that. I mean, you should see some of the things we’ve done. We’ve rented entire hotel rooms just for the flowers to have an air-conditioned place to sleep. We’ve climbed ladders that were higher than any of our height-fearing girls wanted to climb, but of course, we did it. If you want us to string 1,000 origami cranes from the ceiling, yeah, we’re gonna do that, too! Honestly, whether we are in a field in the middle of nowhere, atop a mountain, or in the poshest venue around, we love what we do and who we work with.

Another part of my job on the BME team when I’m not creating magic alongside our visionary CEO is to meet with couples if they’re struggling to choose music. We get it; it’s not for everyone. It can feel overwhelming. I’ll meet with you together as a couple and get to know you and your taste and compile a comprehensive list of songs that you may have never heard of or even thought of to ensure that every last chord feels personal and perfect. Music fuels my soul, so I love getting to dig deep and come up with personalized lists for each couple.

And, I will also be writing the blogs you’ll be seeing here! I’ll try to convince Brandy to jump on from time to time and share her expertise, but mostly, it’ll be me. I love to write, so this was a natural decision for both of us.

Me, personally.

When I'm not working at my Monday to Friday job as a Public Relations Executive with a creative agency, or jet-setting (in a car) to weddings around British Columbia with the BME team, I’m a mom to two beautiful daughters (with a baby boy on the way). I also have two dogs and two cats. I know, it’s a bit wild! You should also know that I spend insane amounts of money on concert tickets, I love to write poetry and am slowly working on a book, my diet is 60% candy and tea, I excel at car dancing, and I dream of living in New York. It’s my favorite place in the whole world!

Anyways, I hope that gives you a little glimpse into who I am, both with the BME team and outside of work. I figured you may as well get to know me a little since I’m going to be showing up around here a lot more now.
