We want to introduce ourselves to you, so you can get to know our team a bit more. It is comforting to have a familiar idea of who is supporting you on your big day and know who to go to with anything you might need. Our team is dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests. We work hard behind the scenes to create magic, put out little fires and solve problems you didn't know existed on your big day. You know the BME brand, now it is time to get to know the BME team.

Brandy

Brandy, if you hadn’t already figured it out, is the owner and creator behind Brandy Maddison Events. Brandy does a bit of everything, but she is primarily the one that works with our lovely couples. Brandy completes all aspects of planning, floral design, and execution as well as decor and event design. Brandy is one of the most thoughtful, loving, kind, giddy, and spontaneous people you can meet. She goes above and beyond for our couples and their guests. Brandy loves all parts of the wedding process, but shares that her favourite moment of any wedding is just before the couple walks down the aisle, "the moment where they take a deep breath, they are filled with excitement and so much emotion, the "this is it" feeling. It feels so incredible to say to them - 'it’s time”. An incredible feeling. Brandy has created many memories from when she first started BME to now. She loves the connections she makes within her team and with those we work with. Brandy has done many weddings that have left an impact on her and the couples she works with. Her favourite part is when we can all become part of the family during the weekend event and share in the magical feeling. Brandy shares her favourite memory, “how hard I see my teamwork, how they will go so above and beyond to make each wedding be and become what it is. How they smile through the sweat, sore feet and back, and pouring rain. How they don’t let an obstacle get in their way and the way they problem solve every situation to create the most beautiful outcome”. She’s truly the sweetest human ever.

Brandy is also the mother to three tiny humans, an 11-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 15-month-old. Brandy and her husband (the unofficial- official manpower behind BME), have a beautiful love story of their own. They’ve been together for 20 years and married for 13. Brandy loves to be outdoors near an ocean or a lake. Her Human Design is a projector, she loves to learn and grow, always learning and working on a new course, or working on her inner self to be the best version of herself she can be.

Kelsey

Kelsey is the empathetic, compassionate, optimistic, mamma bear of the team. She always has snacks prepared, bandaids, Tylenol, candy, whatever we need to get through a 20-hour day, Kelsey is prepared. Kelsey has been with BME for 8 and a half years. Kelsey will do a bit of everything around BME, but primary is the go-to girl for coordinating, decor and music consults. Similar to Brandy, Kelsey’s favourite moment during a wedding is right before the couple walks down the aisle. Kelsey loves the anticipation in the air and always has goosebumps as soon as the first note of the professional song hits, no matter how many times she’s been a part of it. Kelsey also loves to hear the vows from the couple, she loves love! Kelsey has been a part of some incredible, stressful, and hilarious moments with BME. One of her honourable mentions are the Shuswap Hurricane of August 2018 (if you know you know), endless road trips and weekends away, the rainbow wedding with hundred of flags waving as the brides kissed, and the team retreat at Epona Rise Retreat. Kelsey is a mother of three, two daughters who are 11 years old and 9 years old, and a beautiful baby boy who is just 8 months old. Kelsey is engaged to be married next October and is planning her wedding at her favourite place in the world, New York. Everything about her upcoming wedding is inherently “Kelsey”. The venue has beautiful red brick walls, dim lighting, New York pizza, cheesecake, and cannolis. We’re all drooling over it.

Kelsey also works as a Public Relations Executive at Pepper, a creative marketing agency. In her free time, Kelsey will go to as many concerts and live shows as her bank account will allow. Kelsey loves being a mom, being near the ocean, is a diehard Phantom of the Opera fan and writes poetry, and would love to relate a book one day.

Megan C.

Megan is a kind, thoughtful, honest, and caring member of the BME team. She has been a part of BME since 2016 and as she puts it “My role is to get sh*t done”. Megan is the girl that jumps on the ladder, in a tree, on a roof to make sure and possibly may have had to climb through a window one time…Megan is one incredibly hard worker with a soft side when it comes to also working with flowers. Megan also described her favourite moment of any wedding as right before the bride and groom walk down the aisle (I'm picking up on a theme here ;) ) Megan loves seeing that moment for the couple but also for all the other important people that got them to finding their person. Megan has many memories with the BME team, but her favourite part is the road trip and bonding with the girls. Obviously, she thinks making couples' wedding days turn out is incredible too, but she loves having a solid team to do it with!

Megan was born and raised in Kamloops and is a “new-ish” mom. Megan’s baby girl just celebrated her first birthday. Megan also has a massive Newfoundland dog, Momo Boy. Megan loves the simple pleasures in life of a Saturday market stroll with her family, a coffee, and grabbing lunch, having alone time to clean, tinker, or be creative. She feels the most refreshed when she has been in her own space. She loves spending time outside in the yard, watching tv (she’s a big fan of Seinfeld), playing board games, and Mac and Cheese for dinner. Megan will choose an experience over anything material. Megan also loves concerts, particularly Shania Twain, Megan has seen Shania 5 times live!

Katie

Katie has been our funny, kind, adventurous, and unstoppable studio assistant and decor stylist. Katie took care of a lot of the behind-the-scenes cleaning and organizing. She helped ensure that before and after every event all the decor and details were cleaned and ready to go. Katie’s favourite part of any wedding is seeing the magic that brings everyone together, from the team decorating and setting up, to witness the happy couple take in the magic of their special day. One of Katie’s favourite BME memories was walking through the drive-through at McDonalds because we couldn’t pull the trailer through, to get ice cream before a wedding takedown. This wedding was during a particular bad heatwave and Brandy wanted to make sure we had a sweet treat to hype us up for takedown.

Katie has a passion for dancing. She started when she was two and continues to dance as a young adult. Katie is taking a leave from the team over the winter months to work as a spa assistant and plans to join us next summer for the 2023 wedding season. We love and appreciate all that you’ve been a part of at BME, see you next summer Katie!

Megan H.

Megan does a lot of our behind the scene organization. Megan coordinates and communicates with the various vendors we work with and sources new ones. She is a thoughtful, friendly, organized, outgoing and easygoing human. Megan shared that her favourite memory was working with Brandy to plan her own wedding! Megan was hired on at BME in, November 2021, after Brandy and the team planned, decorated, and created florals for Megan’s wedding. Megan loves to see the bride walk down the aisle to her partner, and loves the magic of the first kiss.

Megan is an incredibly hard worker with three jobs. Megan has her own business as a hairdresser and also works as an admin assistant for a remote travel agent. Megan is looking forward to celebrating her first anniversary with her husband. Megan is originally from Kamloops and is lucky to have most of her family living here in town. She loves travelling, visiting friends and new places, and really enjoys baking.

Janessa

Janessa is another hardworking, fun-loving, compassionate, and creative member of the BME team. Janessa only just officially joined the BME team, but she has lent a helping hand a few times before. Janessa is a decor stylist, she helps with the decor setup and take down of weddings. Janessa shares that she loves the magic of a wedding day, from transforming a space to seeing love radiating from the couples and the guests. Janessa is excited to be a part of the BME team and is looking forward to making someone's wedding day wishes come true and doing it with a rockstar group! As Janessa puts it, she is “a huge fan of work hard, play hard!” Janessa keeps busy as a full-time registered nurse and loves to travel, play golf, and do just about anything social! Welcome officially to BME Janessa.

Jenn

Jenn is also brand new to the BME team as a decor stylist. Jenn is a mother, friendly, hard-working, and creative individual. She looks forward to the first moment the bride and groom see each other on their wedding day. It’s such an incredible and intimate moment to witness between two people. When Jenn isn’t working she spends time with her son, husband, and dog, and enjoys playing hockey! Welcome to BME Jenn.

Julia

Julia is our adventurous, thoughtful, ambitious, empathetic, social media guru. Julia joined the BME team in March of 2022 and splits her time as a decor stylist as well as running all of our social media accounts. Julia has a meticulous eye for detail and organization. Julia, like many of us, is a hopeless romantic and her favourite part of any wedding is the first kiss (obviously!). She shares that she also has always had a soft spot for speeches, she loves to see how people connect with the bride and groom, the memories they’ve shared with them, and of course a few good laughs. One of Julia’s favourite memories with BME was our recent road trip to Saskatchewan, the many hours of bonding during the drive, and Brandy accidentally navigating us to the wrong province side of the venue. It was only a slight detour of about 2 hours… Julia is in her last year of university to become an elementary school teacher. As she shares “is fitting because I also have an immense passion for Starbucks coffee (as most teachers do).”

Jordyn

That's Me! The narrating voice behind the screen. I have been working with BME for almost three years and I have worn many hats during my short time here. Currently, I split my time doing decor styling, studio assistance, blog writing, and creating our monthly newsletter. I’ve been described as kind, genuine, and quiet. My favourite part of the wedding like most of the team is being with the wedding party right as they are about to walk down the aisle. The energy and emotions are incredible. I'm also a sucker for the vows, hearing the promises that the couple is making to each other makes me quite emotional. I’d be lying if I said the vows don’t make me cry. I try to be a part of every BME wedding, so it is hard to pick a favourite BME memory. But I loved our recent trip to Saskatchewan and being a part of our first out-of-province wedding! (Even if the Saskatchewan pollen and bugs tried to kill me). I also love spending time in the studio with Brandy, we get to have some incredible conversations that are so meaningful and we always have a good laugh.

When I’m not busy typing away and writing for BME, I work a full-time job working with children and families as a social worker. I love spending time with kids and getting to know them. I was born in a teeny tiny town in northern BC and also lived on the Island before calling Kamloops home. My dream home would be a hobby farm with chickens a cow and maybe a llama. Like Megan C, I love life’s simple pleasures, like spending Saturday mornings at the market or reading a book and enjoying a coffee.

And that is everyone! We are lucky to have one incredible team working together to support BME and our lovely couples. Everything that we do would not be possible without these amazing individuals and all the hard work that they do. There can be some long hours and stressful times doing this work, but it makes it easier doing it with all of them! Thank you for coming to say hi and learn a bit more about each of us.
